This is a top quality podcast for the vault because we got to discuss the incredible life of Bill Russell as he passed away at the age of 88 this August long weekend.
The passing of Bill Russell started a wave of tributes and posts to the Hall of Fame legend. The basketball resume of the 11 time champion is epic and the amount of things he accomplished off the court might be even more impactful. They broke the mould when it came to him and they were never be another like him.
We covered UFC 277 like a blanket and had a fun conversation about all the most important fights and moments from the Dallas, Texas card. Two belts were on the line and both fights ended with a champion reclaiming their blet they had lost previously. Amanda Nunes was dominant in a big battle with champion Julianna Pena and seemed like the Lioness of old. In the Co-main Brandon Moreno KOed Kai-Kara France to regain the belt only it was the interim one this time. There were also a lot of great fights on the card and we broke them down in detail.
We are only three days away from the start of the preseason in the NFL. The Hall of Fame game from Canton, Ohio kicks off the year. the battle will pit the Jacksonville Jaguars versus the Las Vegas Raiders. The Desahaun Watson saga took another turn today as he was suspended 6 games pending appeal. Covid 19 could still impact this football season as news came down today that Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray both tested positive. We hope that the impact will be minimal and everyone can stay healthy.

We have officially entered the cat days of summer and it is hard to get motivated to get out into the high heat! Our great analyst Jason Cameron spent the entire weekend at home and stayed cool and away from the ever rising heat. Our host Darren Campbell was doing the same until Sunday and FOMO overtook him and he went to Summerville and Pro Wrestling to get some fun in.
The UFC returned to England after having the card of the year there just a few months ago. This fight card fell a bit flat and definitely didn't feel as exciting as the instant classic from March. The two stars of the show were again Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett and Molly "Meatball" McCann and their popularity is skyrocketing. The other UK darling of last card was Tom Aspinall who faced Curtis "Razor " Blaydes in the main event this time. Unfortunately the fight only lasted 15 seconds as the big English heavyweight blew out his knee and will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament. The two broke down this card in great detail and it was fun to watch and listen to.
The focus shifted to the NBA and the potential trade destinations for many of the leagues stars. Kevin Durant made a trade request on June 30th and is still a Brooklyn Net as of this podcast but the stories are continuing to come out as the front runners start to emerge.

We are officially in the dog days of summer with not too much sports going on at the moment.
The biggest focus was UFC Long Island and the great card that had the title contender fight for the featherweight division between Yair "El Pantera" Rodriguez vs Brian "T-City" Ortega. Alex Volkanovski will have to prepare to defend his belt against Yair once he recovers from his surgery on his broken thumb. El Pantera got the huge victory as he contributed to Ortega dislocating his shoulder. The rest of the card was fun to watch and really enjoyable to breakdown. Give it a watch and listen.
We were doing the podcast during the MLB All Star game Home Run Derby. It was fun to keep one eye on and we can't wait to watch the PVR recording once we can.
There were a few things to discuss in the NBA and it was fun to get into a come stories in the Association.

This podcast was the fun and enjoyable to record and you will enjoy watching and listening!
Jason was just back from a weekend away in Seattle to see the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. Our host Darren was also sleep deprived but they both stepped up with a great breakdown of the weekend in sports!!!
We discussed UFC Vegas 58 with the two Rafael's facing each other in the main event...Rafael Dos Anjos vs Rafael Fiziev facing each other in a great fight! The rest of the card gets analyzed and broke down with the best in the business!
The NBA free agency period is still open and has been interesting and lucrative for many. It was fun to discuss many of the biggest deals recently completed. NFL is still months away from the season starting but there have been quite a few stories to still emerge. Streaming services are starting to trend for the league and to watch games this upcoming year!

#Heat #Summer #CFL #UFC #NBA #boxing
We have finally got a summer and people are now complaining of the heat! It has been highly anticipated and not welcome only a few days into a hot spell.
The UFC had a good fight night card that we broke down into a lot of detail. The main event was for a place in the top ten of the UFC's Lightweight division Mateusz Gamrot got a huge decision victory over Arman Tsarukyan in a very competitive and tightly contested battle. The leader in combat sports has entered into International fight week and we previewed some of the festivities.
The NBA has been through the 2022 draft and we discussed some of the picks. Kyrie Irving just announced that he will be signing his contract option with the Brooklyn Nets for $37 Million. There was a week with heavy speculation that he would jump to another team but these rumors have now been silenced with this latest news.

#UFC #Fightnight #NBA #fathersday #Hustle
This podcast comes on the last day of Spring on the eve of Summer and just after Fathers Day so lets celebrate!
We started this episode with a breakdown of a great UFC card that was incredibly entertaining from the first fight to the last! A UFC record was tied with 9 Knockouts and the fight of the night was the main event. The Featherweight division was on display with two of the divisions best in a very tough battle. Calvin Kattar the #4 seed took on Josh Emmett the #7 seed and they went the full 25 minutes and it capped off one of the best cards ever! Do yourself a favor and watch this entire card and the breakdown here for a great night of entertainment!
The NBA Finals is over and the Golden State Warriors have ascended to the top of the mountain again and hoisted their fourth title in the last 8 years. Steph Curry was the leader and got his much awaited Finals MVP and put himself firmly entrenched in the top 10 players of all time conversation. It was fun to watch and to breakdown but it will be hard to keep together. We went over the salary structure and luxury tax they will have to pay out and it looks to be between $400 and $500 Million dollars to take another run with this group intact.
The NBA Draft takes place the Thursday and will be fun to see the lives changed and the fortunes of the 30 teams. The draft gives renewed hope for all the teams that want to raise the Larry O'Brien trophy like the Warriors just celebrated today with a parade through the streets of San Francisco! Thanks so much for watching and your continued support.

This was a great weekend that was a celebration of a birthday and a deep dive into the world of sports!
We covered the NBA finals and the first two games between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. The series is tied at one game apiece with game three in Boston on Wednesday.
The UFC Fight Night turned into quite the fun card and Alex "Drago" Volkov got a hug KO victory in the main event,.
We covered the boxing fight between George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney who became the undisputed lightweight champion with a decision victory at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
We discussed the huge $4.5 Billion purchase of the Denver Broncos and the retirements of four long time NFL veterans.
We had a blast talking sports and we hope you love watching and listening to it!

We finally have a NBA Final to look forward to between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. The playoffs have been fairly disappointing this year with most games becoming blowouts, We all hope that this final is a tightly contested and lengthy matchup.
We talked about the unfortunate death of Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney who died in a car crash today. In other NFL news Antonio Brown announced that he would not be playing in this upcoming NFL season and we asked Jason his opinion on the matter.
We discussed another heroic act by UFC fighter Kevin" Trailblazer: Holland who was witness to a truck that had crashed and flipped over and he pulled the driver to safety. Holland has been involved in a few incidents this past year as he apprehended a car thief in one and took down an active shooter in a restaurant in the other. We previewed the upcoming UFC fight night card from Vegas this Saturday. The main event was a heavyweight battle between Alexander Volkov vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik and it should be a great standup striking war!
Also in combat sports we discussed some boxing and specifically the fight between Gervonta:"Tank" Davis who KO'ed Rolando Romero on Saturday in spectacular fashion. This sets up the possibility of a Ryan Garcia battle that both seem to be clamoring for.

#NBA #Conferencefinals #UFC #Boxing
We had a great discussion about the NBA, UFC and boxing in this episode.
They are down to the final four in the NBA as the Conference finals are now set.
The East will be a defensive struggle between the top seeded Miami Heat hosting the second seeded Boston Celtics. In the West the #3 seeded Golden State Warriors play host to the #4 seeded Dallas Mavericks to start this round. We discussed how these teams were able to get here and broke down the semi finals. We also looked ahead and Jason gave some great insight into these matchups. He predicts the Heat in 7 and the Warriors in six games to go to the Finals.
The UFC Vegas 54 card was headlined by former light Heavyweight Champ Jan Blachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakic and was a great and tight battle. The scrap was unfortunately stopped when Rakic blew out his ACL ligament in his right knee and couldn't continue. There were a lot of fun fights to breakdown and we had a good time doing it.
We also previewed next weeks card with Holly Holm vs Ketlen Viera as the main event.
We talked about the big Showtime boxing card that featured a big Light Middleweight bout to crown the undisputed champ and gain all four belts. Jermell Charlo was victorious in his rematch with Brain Castano after the draw between them in July of 2021. it was a great fight and it was almost as fun discussing it as watching it.

#IR #Covid #NBA #UFC274 #Phoenix #Boxing
We both came into this podcast at less than 100% and sick and hurt. This was the first podcast in three weeks. It turned out to be pretty good podcast episode even though both participants have ailments that rendered them much less than 100%.
We started talking about the semi-finals in both NBA conferences as three of the series are tied at two games each. The third series between Golden State and Memphis was just getting underway as we were finishing the episode. Big comebacks from 2 games to nothing down by Philly tying their matchup with Miami. The Dallas Mavericks deadlocked their series at two with the top seeded Phoenix Suns. The Boston Celtics took a big win in game four of their battle with the Milwaukee Bucks to knot it up at two games apiece as we were recording this podcast.
Our conversation shifted to the UFC 274 and the good, bad and the ugly of this weekends card in Phoenix, Arizona. Jason wanted to get the ugly out of the way off the start. The co-main event was a terrible fight with no entertainment value to speak of. Rose Namajunas came in as the Champion of the Women's Strawweight division and was trying to avenge a defeat to Carla Esparza 8 years prior. It was an absolute no show by Rose and almost the same for Esparza who recaptured the belt after losing it 2,612 days before. The next longest days between title reigns was Frank Mir who went 1,234 days in between. It was ugly and not worth our time. Speaking of ugly the fight between two old guys in Ovince St Preux and Shogun Rua seemed to make you question if both guys still had enough to continue fighting in the UFC it was ugly. We discussed the good with big wins by Charles Olivera and Michael Chandler who both currently occupy the lightweight division. The bad was that even though Charles Olivera was the champ of the weight class and won he walked out of the cage without the belt because he missed weight and now the title is vacant. The other good and one of the highlights of the night is the announcement of Daniel Cormier getting a Hall of Fame spot and it led to tears and for once a speechless DC.
At the same time the UFC was holding their card the boxing world had their top pound for pound fighter on the planet moving up in weight and taking on the champ at Light Heavyweight. Canelo Alvarez came into this bout with a 57-1-2 record and was considered the best boxer in the world. Dmitri Bivol put his belts on the line and tried to preserve his undefeated record that sat at 19-0. Canelo was the much smaller fighter and it was too much for him but was a huge upset in the combat sports universe. It looks like a trilogy fight between him and Triple G will now have to wait and it looks like a rematch clause will be invoked. This fight sent shockwaves through the world of boxing and will be interesting to see a rematch in the near future.
