This was our first podcast episode of 2021.

 

We broke down the final week of the NFL regular season and previewed the playoffs. There are 14 of 32 teams that made the dance and there are a lot of intriguing matchups. This was a crazy Covid 19 football season that has had so many ups and downs and chaos and it was miraculous that they completed the 17 week regular season.

 

The NBA entered into its third week and a lot of storylines emerged and we discussed a lot of them. There were so many interesting developments with a lot the the top end talent in the association. We were recording the day after Steph Curry went off for 62 points in a huge statement game against Portland. The Blazers had beat the Warriors on Christmas Day by 25 points and so Golden State got some measure of revenge. Steph had received a lot of criticism for his play and his teams performance in the first few games of the year. He used those comments to fuel his fire and prove that he still is the best shooter in NBA history.

 

Boxing took a little spotlight over the weekend as Ryan Garcia continues to show his power and skill as he TKO'ed Luke Campbell in the 7th round. Garcia survived a second round knockdown and finished off Campbell with a brutal left hook to the body. The great up and comer is now 21-1 in his career and had never been dropped but really took it to Campbell after. He controlled the fight with superior hand speed and accuracy. Campbell was no joke of an opponent as he was the 2012 Olympic Gold Medallist and has twice challenged for lightweight titles. Boxing is having a resurgence recently with a lot of great young fighters that Jason talked about.
